Grant Description

Sector: Argiculture/FtF Soya, Beneficiaries: 70 smallholder farmers, which includes 50 women., The proposed project is about promoting and supporting smallholder soya producers in the rural Dedza district.

Mgwilizano Cooperative is composed of 70 hard working men and women, predominantly women who want to make a difference in their lives. These farmers mainly grow soya beans, ground nuts and maize.

They have opted to concentrate on soya bean production because of several reasons including its profitability, low input (fertilizer) requirements and easiness to manage.

USADF funding will provide training, technical assistance, working capital, solar infrastructure, and administrative support.
