Grant Description

On 11 February, 2014, Zimbabwe received a $23.3 million USD grant from China for financing infrastructure construction in rural areas. This grant was provided through an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA). The deal was signed by Zimbabwean Minister of Finance, Patrick Chinamasa, and Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Lin Lin.

This grant will be used to construct clinics and primary and secondary schools in resettled areas acquired under the land reform program. The grant will also cover other projects such as borehole drilling and procurement of meteorological equipment.
