Grant Description

On November 27th, 2012, Chinese Ambassador to Macedonia Cui Zhiwei, and Macedonian Minister of Transport and Communications Yanakieski, signed an economic cooperation and technical agreement in the field of infrastructure.

This agreement later served as the foundation for cooperation between China and Macedonia in financing and constructing the Macedonia for Kicevo-Ohrid Motorway Construction Project (ID#66444) and Miladinovci-Štip Motorway Construction Project (ID#66438), both beginning implementation in 2014. On January 1, 2013, Macedonia's legislature ratified the agreement into law.

On March 2, 2013 the agreement became effective within Macedonia.
