Grant Description

Baado Norte and Baado Sur are irregular urban settlements in Asunci n, Paraguay where communities live without access to basic human rights like safe housing, a healthy environment, clean water, and quality education.

Women and young people, in particular, face challenges earning a living because many have not completed secondary education and work informal jobs. The IAF supports community-led approaches to expanding economic opportunity.

Our grantee Asociacin Sembrando Conciencia (ASC), a youth-led grassroots organization, is strengthening community resilience and contributing to the social and economic development of women and young people through sustainable urban agriculture .

This grant advances the IAF?s strategic initiatives to promote sustainable agriculture, strengthen food security efforts, and support viable livelihoods and to promote the economic and social inclusion and human rights of historically marginalized populations.
