Grant Description

In 1990, the Tahoe-Baikal Institute was formed to help protect both Lake Baikal and California's Lake Tahoe, similarly treasured in the United States.

In 2002, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service established a long-term relationship with the Tahoe-Baikal Institute to help develop ecotourism at Lake Baikal and to improve the management of its watershed.
