Grant Description

Locating the point of origin for pests are important to developing strategies for its control. The origin of one recently identified pest in the U.S., sudden oak death, (Phytoptera ramorum) is unknown.

This activity will try to rule out origins in China by sending a two person team to the known host areas in China to test if the sudden oak death pathogen can be isolated.
