USDA Technical Assistance in Support of Free Trade Agreements

OCBD will work with other Program Areas (OSTA, ONA, OCRA, and Posts,) APHIS, FSIS, FDA, and USTR on projects that address the key U.S. priorities for the FTA countries that will help the U.S. industry take advantage of the increased market access under FTAs.

Activities could be identified during negotiations, which would facilitate U.S. negotiators success in obtaining greater market access, or after the negotiations helping the FTA partners better meet their FTA obligations, understanding of the U.S. regulatory systems, increase their transparency on regulations, and understanding of sound science and international standards in establishing their regulations.
