Grant Description

This project, conducted by the Volunteers for Economic Growth Alliance (VEGA) consortium, aims to implement a comprehensive change management program at the Afghanistan Ministroy of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MAIL). The CBCMP is comprised of two components with a unique set of objectives.

Component One aims to increase MAIL's ability to manage its financial, physical, and human resources.

Component Two promotes institutional capacity-building and change management through implementation of four pillars of organizational management: progress scorecards, annual work planning, service-delivery process improvement, and organizational structure analysis.

Component Two is active at the Ministry and in the extension sections in 11 targeted provincial Directorates of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (DAILs).

Both objectives focus on contributing to and stimulating purposeful, organizational and functional change at MAIL, leading to a modernized ministry capable of delivering agricultural services.

The project also includes Senior Provincial Management Specialists and IT infrastructure improvement in all 34 provincial DAILs.
