Supports the National Strategy for Countering Biological Threats by meeting the following objectives: 1) Expand international partnerships and bioengagement; 2) Strengthen partners capacities to comply with World Organization for Animal Health guidelines for surveillance, detection, diagnosis and reporting of notifiable diseases; 3) Promote development of international guidelines for safety and security of high risk pathogens/toxins; 4) Support partner efforts to apply safety and security practices in a risk-based and sustainable manner; 5) Promote development of international guidelines for safety and security of high risk pathogens/toxins; 6) Building knowledge as to the disease burden and technological capabilities in partner countries; and, 7) Building international capacity against infectious diseases in partner countries
