Grant Description

In July 2016, Chinese and Congolese government officials signed a framework agreement for bilateral cooperation in the infrastructure and industry sectors.

In subsequent meetings including one held on April 10, 2017, both parties signed subsequent financing agreements allocation funds to various projects.

The known projects funded under the 2016 framework agreement include: (1) Kouembali Hydroelectric Dam Construction Project (2) Operation of a Pointe-Noire potash mine (#59065) (3) Construction of the urban city in the Ngamakosso district (Brazzaville) (4) Construction of the ore port and special economic zone in Pointe-Noire (#30501 and #59586) (5) Aeronautical Maintenance Center Construction Project (#73659) (6) Congo-Ocean Railway (CFCO) Rehabilitation Project (#59161) (7) Exploration of an oil field at Pointe-Noire (#59990) (8) Establishing a development institute at Denis Sassou N'Guesso University (#73660).
