Grant Description

Political and civil instability have taken a severe toll on this area in the center of DRC in recent years.

Core infrastructure was destroyed, park rangers and their families were killed, and elephants, okapis and other wildlife were targeted.

In an effort to restore security to the protected area, this grant will support the hiring, training, equipping and running expenses of 50 additional guards and will repair and rebuild the Zunguluka guard post that was looted and burned by poachers.
