Grant Description

Cote d'Ivoire - Transportation Project - Transportation Management and Planning Activity: The Activity will focus on building the technical and managerial capacity of the Government's road-transport related agencies through improved educational know-how and infrastructure asset-management techniques, which integrate the engineering, economics, environmental, and social elements and activities related to road design, preservation and maintenance.

MCC Funding will support three inter-related sub-activities that (i) invest in educational and training resources for road asset management, (ii) develop road asset and safety resources and management tools, and (iii) improve the use of road maintenance funds.

A fourth sub-activity will focus on helping the Government resolve the persistent problem of heavy-truck parking near and around the Port of Abidjan. The Compact will provide this support to and through Cote d'Ivoire's road-transport agencies.
