Grant Description

China Eximbank pledges $39.3 million loan for Phase 2 (Group B) of the Transportation Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project In 2019, the Government of Ecuador and China Eximbank were in discussions about a possible $39,366,798.67 loan for Phase 2 (Group B) of the Transportation Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project.

However, as of March 2022, AidData could not identify any evidence that the loan agreement was ever finalized.

The purpose of Phase 2 (Group B) is to support the rehabilitation of La Boca-Malecon de Crucita bridge (Puente La Boca-Maelcón de Crucita), Jipijapa interchange (Intercambiador de Jipijapa), and Quimíes bridge (Puente Quimis).

China Shandong International Economic and Technical Cooperation Group Ltd. is reportedly the contractor that will be responsible for project implementation.
