Grant Description

On December 19th, 2018, the government of the People's Republic of China signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) to strengthen relations with the Government Costa Rica, which entailed a donation of 100 million RMB (around 14.5 million USD) to Costa Rica. This project captures the umbrella project for the distribution of the donation.

Of this sum of money, 75,832,900 yuan (about 11 million dollars) will be donated for the purpose of renovating the security and fire systems of the National Stadium (see Record ID#54674).

The grant will also support the delivery of equipment, the arrival of Chinese professionals, and training for Costa Rican personnel at the stadium.

An unspecified amount of the remaining funds was reportedly used for work on the Cañas Bebedero Aqueduct and training for government officials.
