This project involved the rehabilitation of the Alphonse Massamba-Debat stadium in the capital city of Brazzaville.
More specifically, the project sought to increase the seating capacity of the stadium from 17,500 to 20,000 and to construct two VIP lounges, a hotel with ten rooms, a restaurant, modern locker rooms, and facilities for volleyball, handball, and basketball.
Weihai International Economic & Technical Cooperative Co., Ltd. (WIETC) was the contractor responsible for implementation of the project.
Rehabilitation works began on January 15, 2001, and the newly-renovated stadium was officially inaugurated on February 19, 2002.
The French project title is Le projet de réhabilitation du stade de football Alphonse Massamba Débat or Le projet de réhabilitation du stade de football Alphonse Massamba-Débat.
