To support the documentation of Khmer classical dance techniques, melodies, and costumes.

Nearly wiped out during the genocide of the 1970s, Khmer classical dance survives thanks to a small number of committed dancers who, in the 1980s, struggled to learn the art and stave off its disappearance amid extreme poverty and political instability.

The project includes training and documentation of the gestural vocabulary, pedagogical techniques, and dance stories associated with this tradition.
