Grant Description

To preserve an historic building and manuscripts in the town of Lamu on Kenya's northern coast.

The project involves the rehabilitation of the 19th-century Lamu Museum building and the preservation of handwritten Swahili manuscripts and a 200-year old map in the Lamu Fort Library.
