Grant Description

To support the documentation of important cultural landscapes and archaeological sites, along the Silk Route, in the steppes and desert areas of Kazakhstan. The sites will be surveyed and mapped.

The expansion of infrastructure, settlements, and irrigated agriculture threatens the integrity and material evidence of the sites. Documentation will assist in the preservation of the sites.
