Grant Description

To support the systematic documentation of important historic sites in Haiti.

Despite Haitis abundance of historic structures and sites dating back centuries, the country lacks an authoritative published inventory to help guide preservation and reconstruction efforts in the aftermath of the January 2010 earthquake.

The project involves the evaluation of risk damage to historic structures and the compilation or revision of more than 200 historic site records and the development of a national historic sites catalog for use by public officials and planners.
