Documentation of 18th-Century Cemeteries in Essaouira

To support documentation of Muslim, Christian, and Jewish cemeteries in Essaouira, a World Heritage site and an area representative of the inclusive aspects of Moroccan culture.

Many of the tombs, which are engraved with the names, dates, and personal stories of the deceased, are being lost to erosion.

The project addresses this potential loss and includes conservation training, sustainable plantings, and promotion of local investment in the sustainable maintenance of the cemeteries.
