Grant Description

Once a hunter-gatherer culture dependent upon the freshwater wetland region shared by Paraguay, Bolivia, and Brazil, the Yshir are quickly losing their traditional life-ways and distinct language.

This project involves the documentation and dissemination of traditional cultural knowledge of local natural resources and capacity building in cultural preservation.
