pureLiFi's vision is to connect everything and everyone with LiFi, becoming a pervasive technology touching everyone.
Crowned Scotland's most innovative technology company 2020, pureLiFi is the global leader in LiFi, the wireless communication technology that uses light rather than radio frequencies (RF) to transmit data.
LiFi is high-speed, wireless, bidirectional & mobile, delivering reliably high data rates and security that RF alone cannot offer. With ever increasing legal and spectrum restrictions coupled with the exponential growth in demand for connectivity, the need for a complementary unrestricted high-speed communication platform solution is critical. LiFi takes over where RF falls off.
Based in Edinburgh, pureLiFi is: Employs 40 people, of whom 60% are engineers Leading in IEEE 802.11bb standardisation and the Light Communication Alliance Deploying LiFi systems worldwide, over 200 to date
Led by a team experienced with innovative technology, product innovation, global brand customers, supply chain optimisation and marketing delivery Backed by venture capital.
LiFi's adoption in high volume consumer electronics is dependent on LiFi components capable of meeting the very challenging cost, size, power and performance requirements for devices such as smartphone and tablets.
In 2019 pureLiFi took the first steps to address this mass market opportunity with a proof-of-concept 1 Gbps Light Antenna Module (LAM) for integration into smartphones and laptops, generating strong interest with tier one device manufacturers. Global brands are demanding fully qualified LiFi components with high-volume supply capability for their next generation products.
This innovative project is key to our growth strategy of driving LiFi to the mainstream, matching market requirements to achieve high volume commercialisation. This project will achieve reliable data rates many times faster than typical UK 5G speeds today. pureLiFi is ready. This project will take LiFi mainstream.
