The NWA-route Sport & Exercise has set an innovative course.
Currently, three roadmaps are being designed that tackle bigger societal problems, in which sport, exercise and physical activity will play a significant role (i.e. Moving Smarter and Better, Healthy Generation and Lifestyle as Medicine).
From a theoretical perspective (body of knowledge), sport and exercise scientists contribute -in essence- to ‘what works for whom and where and under which conditions’ (theoretical and empirical evidence). However, the way to do this, as well as how to apply and implement this knowledge will be novel compared to before.
The following three subprojects are proposed: 1) Smart Partnerships for the large-scale data-infrastructure for Sport, Exercise and Physical Activity, 2) Smart Partnerships for Sport, Exercise and Physical Activity in cities and regions and 3) Impact Pathways and Theories of Change for Sports, Exercise and Physical Activity.
These projects significantly contribute to this ‘route to innovation’, and will form the key building blocks for the future of the Roadmaps 2030 for Sport & Exercise.
