Who is responsible? Analysis of fairness in climate policy

Changing our production and consumption patterns to combat climate change is important but costly. Distributing responsibility for lowering greenhouse gas emissions between different actors is therefore important. Until now focus has been on how to achieve an efficient reduction in emissions.

This is an important aspect, but we also need to consider which actors are morally responsible for emissions and to what extent, i.e. whether a given distribution of costs is just.

The aim of the project is to address this question, taking philosophical theories of responsibility as the point of departure.
