Integration of regional carbon budgets into regional climate policy

The main objective of the project is to increase the understanding of the role counties can play in the rapid transition to a carbon-neutral society.

Together with three selected Swedish counties, the project investigates the process of integrating carbon budget targets into regional climate policy and broader regional public policy goals.

The project’s point of departure consists of regional carbon budgets developed for Västra Götaland, Västerbotten, and Östergötland counties and the differences and similarities between these counties are investigated through stakeholder workshops, interviews and document studies.
