100% electrification of distribution vehicles through system optimization and new business models in freight terminals

The project aim is system advantages for electric grid and road transports sectors where focus is on analyzing how Brings terminals in Sweden can be electrified in order to serve all of Brings vehicle fleet with charging. The results are considered valid for all transport companies terminal operations.

The project target is to evaluate potential and hinders with full electrification of all vehicles in freight terminals where local generation and storage of electric energy are design parameters on a system level. Furthermore analysis for optimization will be carried out based on financial ratios, energy efficiency and CO2 reductions comprising solar panels, energy storage, mgmt system, charging solutions and usage of vehicle to grid - and from a system perspective - terminal to grid.
