AI for Smart Logistics Flows

Today, 30-50% of the volume sent in e-commerce is air. This means that there is a huge shipping capacity that is not utilized due to inefficient packing. Given the rapid growth of e-commerce (40% in 2020), it is important that transport achieves higher resource efficiency - regardless of fuel and vehicle type.

In this project, Skrym will further develop and test its optimization systems for efficient packaging together with PostNord TPL, the Nordic region's largest 3PL player (3PL handles warehousing and picking / packing for e-retailers). The aim is to reduce the average amount of air in packages to increase the degree of resource use in transport. As PostNord TPL is a large-scale player, this can mean that several truck transports per day can be eliminated.
