Climate impact of buildings is largely decided in early building processes, but today there is lack of established tools to support decisions there.
The project shall further develop a tool and method for calculating at early stage the climate impact of materials and volumes.
The project builds on a previous E2B2 project where a tool that automatically returns climate impact of volume sketches was made between Grasshopper 3d (GH) and IVL’s LCA tool BM. For higher application and complete comparison, more development is needed. By linking to structural engineers’ work, better quantity data and climate impact indication will be reached.
Price and energy efficiency will also be integrated in the tool. The tool's ability to support decisions is then tested by case studies.
The project is made in 7 WPs for status description, method and tool development, quality routine, case studies and communication. In the project, IVL, FOJAB, Warm in the Winter, Tyréns, RISE and Chalmers collaborate.
