Knowledge concerning the level of the climate impact in a life cycle perspective of buildings, is still relatively low. This applies, for example, to how different functional properties and design choices affect this level.
Similar knowledge is essential partly to effectively identify and realize potentials for improvement in accordance with the Climate Act and partly to identify any undesirable effects if tough climate requirements are set for new-build and refurbishment projects. The aim of this project is to develop and synthesize such knowledge, useful for the Swedish context.
This is done mainly through in-depth analyzes of a large number of buildings, workshops with practitioners in the construction sector and a review of recent research results.
As we have access to a unique set of data, the project focuses on conducting in-depth relevant analyzes and communicating results and conclusions both internationally and nationally to decision-makers and the construction industry.
