Grant Description

In 2021, the European Commission presents proposals for recasting the EU directives on energy efficiency, energy performance of buildings and emissions trading. The proposals can have great influence on Swedish policies to promote resource and energy-efficient buildings.

The overall aim of the project is to provide better knowledge of the processes for decision making and policy change regarding resource and energy-efficient buildings at EU level. The state of knowledge regarding policy making on energy efficiency is very limited.

Better scientific knowledge of the processes of EU decision-making on resource- and energy-efficient buildings can make researchers in the field of energy and buildings, better understand decision-making in this area.

This knowledge gives decision-makers a better base to influence future EU directives on energy efficiency and the energy performance of buildings and to promote Swedish innovation in the built environment and support its global export.
