The role of the Energy Coordinator in refurbishments through National Guidelines

Energy coordination is a prerequisite for sustainable construction. The issue is particularly relevant in renovation projects where existing and new systems must work together. The role of Energy Coordinator has begun to emerge, but is today handled as a marginalized role with varying meanings and conditions depending on the project stage.

The result is that energy coordination is not adequately implemented, which in turn results in many of today's renovation projects not reaching set energy targets. Additional factors are demanding information management related to energy coordination and increased digitization.

The project's goal is to clearly define and publish Energy Coordinator as a role throughout the entire renovation project with a focus on the associated information management. Publication is done through the National Guidelines for Life Cycle Information. It will give the Energy Coordinator the clarity and anchoring needed in synergy with other roles in renovation projects
