Grant Description

In the new neighbourhood Crossways in Växjö, five buildings within service, offices, meeting place and grocery store will be developed. The purpose of the project is to meet tomorrow's energy and climate challenges.

We need to balance the future renewable energy system giving weather-dependent and less predictable power, and focus on power management and flexibility in the energy usage.

We want to meet this challenge by developing an energy and power solution at neighbourhood level regarding electricity, heating, and cooling. The goals are: 1. Minimization of the added power from electricity, district heating and district cooling networks 2. Positive CO2 balance for the neighbourhood’s energy system during operations

3. High level of self-usage when neighbourhood’s energy production is used in the area 4. Overproduction of renewable energy that generates more energy than the neighbourhood consumes The work is conducted in a partnership between Skanska, Siemens, Veab and LNU.
