To expand the construction's thermal possibilities and lift long-term biological carbon storage of wood raw material in the foundation and replace non-renewable, energy-intensive materials. In this project, the concept of a thermal battery with pressure distribution and load-bearing properties is combined into a foundation that functions as a thermal battery completely inside the house.
This adds a new perspective and opportunities for wood construction. Insulation of the indoor climate and possible cooling that can be utilized internally ensures a comfortable indoor climate. From a societal perspective, this type of construction has great potential for generating buildings that do not increase the stresses on the electricity grid's as energy does not need to be taken out when the load is high. Opportunity is also given to utilize
electrical energy from solar cells and thermally via a heat pump. This can maximize the buildings ability to use local renewable energy.
