The suggested project aims at reducing the environmental impact of vehicles. This includes not only the use phase but everything from raw material extraction, manufacturing, use, to end-of-life.
The project will analyze, test and evaluate the entire value chain for sustainable structural composites within the automotive industry.
State-of-the-art technologies will be tested, evaluated and further developed from a technology readiness, environmental, financial and logistic point of view.
The main applicant is RISE SICOMP and the project partners are Luleå University of Technology (LTU), RISE ETC, Scania, Volvo Car Corporation, Polestar, Gestamp Hardtech, Arkema, NordTool and BComp. The project stretches over three years and is planned to start 2022-04-01. The total budget of the project is 20 790 000 SEK with 47.7% public funding, i.e. 9 915 000 SEK.
