Climate Neutral Umeå 2030

To shape a climate-neutral society through sustainable growth and with high quality of life for all, Climate Neutral Umeå 2030 centers on creating transformative capacity via broad collaboration in a transition function. This enables implementation of Climate City Contract 2030 and Umeå’s Climate Roadmap through innovative, organizational development with Umeå’s stakeholders.

A process for yearly updating of Climate City Contract 2030 will be developed, incl. new methods for evaluation, a shared digital framework, and a local climate conference. Also, a cross disciplinary transition platform will be established, incl. a citizen and civil society driven innovation platform, a business climate transition platform, and demand driven innovation teams.

A common Umeå initiative portfolio’ will be established, in which concrete climate investments are implemented, in addition to the establishment of a common Umeå methodology for the development and implementation of climate investment plan.
