RORiLand - Rural un-travels and travels on the country side

One quarter of Sweden's population live in rural areas.

To create transport efficiency in these areas, measures that promote energy- and resource-efficient means of transport and create accessibility through less travels are needed.

By combining mobility solutions with workplace sharing, this project creates a unique approach to the transformation of the transport sector in rural areas. The research approach is based on the window of opportunity that opened with the Corona pandemic.

The project will result in models for how the benefits of mobility and shared offices can be evaluated, concept development of neighborhood offices and mobility services in rural areas and a proposal for a rural environment agreement with the aim of increasing acceptance of more ambitious climate policies.

The project is designed to enable replication of the project's research results through the participation of 37 municipalities and “follower-regions” that participate as recipients.
