Climate neutral Skellefteå 2030

A unique transformation is happening in Skellefteå. There is a strong development in the industry and construction and planning is at an all-time high.

An intensive work is ongoing to coordinate projects and strive for a sustainable development of the community with a green transformation. Through Viable Cities we want to strengthen and develop this work further.

With increased cooperation between the municipality, energy company, civil society, businesses and academia we want to get better at taking advantage of synergies, our local strengths and external experts in ongoing development projects.

Our focus is on supporting, managing and cooperating in projects in the area of sustainable construction, mobility and industry. Sustainable energy, sectoral connections and local sharing/circular economy are central themes in many of our projects.

With this profile we see that Skellefteå can make an important contribution to Viable Cities and the transformation to a climate neutral society.
