Climate neutral Gävle 2030

Gävle municipality has a strategic environmental program with the goal of becoming climate neutral by 2035, including consumption-based emissions, and a comprehensive climate roadmap. In addition, Gävle will build one of Europe's most sustainable districts, Näringen. By joining Viable Cities, we want to take our existing sustainability work to the next level by creating system transformation together with the project consortium and other Viable Cities participants.

Gävle has during a long time built up an organization and capacity around sustainability issues and is in a good position to deliver the objectives within Viable Cities, where we are already making progress regarding climate contracts, climate investment plans and innovation teams. In addition to these objectives, we will work with three measures from our climate roadmap:
