Solution-processed organic solar cells (OSCs) have shown great potential in fabricating low-cost and large-area solar panels.
Recent advances in non-fullerene acceptors have successfully boosted the power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of OSCs to a high value over 18%, turning OSCs from pure scientific curiosity to a topic of industrial relevance.
There are two urgent issues critical to future commercialization of OSCs: toxicity of solvents during solution processing, and poor stability of OSCs.
This project aims to address these two critical challenges using a synergistic approach, and develop highly stable and efficient OSCs which are compatible with green solvents.
With the large network of contacts with academic and industrial players, our project will not only improve the working environment and minimize negative environmental impact, but also increase sustainable electricity production from solar energy and contribute to providing clean energy in Sweden.
