Helsingborg's ambition is to offer the residents a high quality of life within the planet's borders. The City of Helsingborg has an ambitious climate- and energy plan with the goal of achieving zero emissions by 2035. As part of this, a local Paris Agreement, Climate Agreement in Helsingborg, was launched in the spring of 2021. The follow-up of the climate- and energy plan stated that the city has achieved success, but the workrate is too slow if we are to achieve our goals in time.
With this project, the city wants to sharpen the transition to climate neutrality through Climate Contract 2030 and the climate investment plan together with business, associations and residents.
In addition to this, the project proposes three initiatives, which we together with selected project partners want to investigate: • how can we create a sustainable and robust energy system, • how can we reduce emissions at city district level, • how can we reduce fossil plastics in residual waste?
