ANItA Academic-industrial Nuclear Initiative to Achieve a sustainable energy future

The proposed Centre of Excellence gather most of Swedish industrial and academic expertise within nuclear technology under one umbrella, aimed at supporting the development of a knowledge-based strategy for the introduction of small modular reactors in Sweden. The Centre achieves not only a higher utilization of existing research and development resources, but also that Swedish research, expertise and entrepreneurship can be effectively exposed internationally.

The Centre is also expected to have a role as a technical support organisation for politics and society at large regarding the introduction of new nuclear technology in Sweden and thus gain relevance beyond the first five to ten years.

The work of the Centre is multidisciplinary, which, in addition to nuclear technology, also covers licensing and legislative aspects as well as issues relating to the impact of the introduction of new nuclear technologies on industrial and societal technological and economic strategies.
