Electrification of the transport sector is seen as one of the most viable solutions for realizing a drastic global reduction of green-house gases.
The goal of this project is to develop novel polymers formulations for two applications in electric motors: slot liners and impregnation resins, through combined experimental- and simulation study, and verify their processability as well as structural and functional performance at both laboratory- and prototype level.
This is to address the challenge that currently very few optimized polymer formulations exist for electric motor applications, which mitigates the development of lighter electric vehicles with energy efficiency and reliability.
This project addresses how to realize polymeric composite systems for electric motor applications with the best compromise of processability, structural and functional performance against cost per kWh. The project will be carried out in three years, with a total cost of 8,2 M SEK (5,0 MSEK public funds).
