Energy- and resource-efficient production processes for sustainable coating materials

The purpose of this project is increased energy efficiency, large energy savings, and reduced resource consumption in advanced manufacturing processes. PVD coatings is an area where Swedish industry and academic research are international leaders. The goal is to develop new processes, maintaining quality and functionality with energy consumption reduced by 25-50%.

The Swedish Energy Agency assesses that the application has great potential to both reduce energy use and opens up for completely new applications with PVD technology.
