Glycerol-based hydraulic fluid for hydropower industry

It was found in the project funded by Energimyndigheten (Håva, Dnr 2018-003910) it has great potential to use glycerol-based environmentally friendly hydraulic fluid in hydropower industry to eliminate lubricating oils pollution there.

In this proposed project, we manage to form an application team covering the whole value chain from lubricants suppliers (Sustainalube AB), machine manufacturer (Danfoss) to end users (Vanntenfall, Statkraft and Piteenergi) together with a research partner (Luleå University of Technology).

Besides this we also have communicated with some people in several hydropower companies about the proposed project, who show high interests at the project and some of them even have agreed to be the reference group members.

In the proposed project, we will focus on field tests and making the glycerol-based hydraulic fluid technology ready for large scale industry practical using.
