In order to reach energy and climate goals we need to understand and apply sufficiency, a construct that takes into consideration basic needs, social justice, and planetary boundaries. However, what sufficiency is can be difficult to grasp for both individuals and organisations.
The project aims to explore sufficient and fair energy use in households and/or organisations, incl. elderly care facilities, schools, and workplaces.
The project has a research-through-design approach using speculative design objects to foreground as well as challenge norms surrounding energy use and consumption patterns.
The insights gained will be turned into a tool that highlights, explores, and supports energy sufficiency and fairness in households and/or other organisations in different contexts.
The tool should work as a support for energy and climate advisors, energy educators, and similar agents in their dialogue with clients, and be developed together with them.
