Grant Description

Sweden needs new forms of housing that are social, sustainable and affordable and that enable more energy and resource-efficient practices.

Shared forms of housing have the potential to meet these needs and have caught the interest from actors in community development. The target groups are primarily students, young adults, and elderly from the age of 65.

In this project, we take a big step towards concretization and creating capacity for development by addressing what hinders realisation on a larger scale. The project begins with an evaluation of six sharing communities and an overview of international research.

Then we gather all relevant actors in policy workshops to identify obstacles and opportunities for sharing communities and to create a common goal.

Through scenarios, we explore the living and learning environments of the future and broaden the horizons for the possible. We co-create recommendations for shared homes that we finally test in three full-scale living labs.
