RESTART is a feasibility study aimed at developing a new circular method that involves the reuse of discarded ice hockey sticks.
The goal of the project is to develop a new way to reuse scrapped carbon fiber composite shafts from ice hockey sticks as crash energy-absorbing elements in automotive components.
The project involves an ice hockey club, a company that supplies a components to the automotive industry, a research institute and a university.
The results will include the identification of critical research and development needs as well as the time and resources required for close-to-market testing and preliminary markets.
The need for patent rights and the need for potential development partners and an estimate of time to market will also be highlighted.
