Complete system to replace single use products for food and drinks for events

The project aims to implement, test and evaluate a system with reusable food and beverage packaging during Almedalen Week, Gothenburg Culturefestival and Gothenburg Horseshow. The solution includes specifically adapted, reusable lunch boxes, plates, mugs and glasses, a technical platform to ensure traceability, data and rotation and operating organization for washing dishes, logistics and other handling.

Beyond this, the project will study and evaluate how services and business models could be designed to facilitate cooperation and enable joint co-creation of value.

The project is expected to result in a more sustainable event, reduced littering and the cost of cleaning as well as increased visitor satisfaction. The project result will also be a good support for future events and organizers who want to use reusable packaging. From 1 January 2024, everyone who serves food or drink for take-away will have to offer reusable packaging options that are part of a rotation system.
