Product-as-a-service (PaaS) is believed to be a prerequisite to tackle the resource challenge with enhancing economic performance in Swedish industry. However, exploiting the full potential of PaaS in industrial practice is challenging due to the high complexity.
The goal of this project is to create practical models on the technology readiness level six that Swedish OEMs can exploit for improving their product designs and service operations under PaaS offerings: one reference model for product development aiming to increase the efficiency and one mathematical model calculating service costs for minimization.
The lifecycle perspective is adopted to guide the model development for environmental sustainability.
The impacts are decreased lead time for developing resource-efficient PaaS offerings with improved economic performance.
Toyota Material Handling and QleanAir provide cases and collaborate closely with researchers from Linköping University to co-create knowledge.
