The proposed collaboration project identifies new knowledge about dynamic public transport in urban areas. The project is about the potential to change people's everyday travels.
The project aims to increase knowledge of how dynamic public transport relates to perceived autonomy in everyday travel and how new solutions can be designed to ensure the feeling of self-determination and freedom while achieving energy efficiency. The project analyzes two ongoing pilot projects with dynamic public transport.
In Karlstad alone, this new mobility solution is estimated to be able to replace 30% of today's public transport, which corresponds to an annual energy saving of 5,630,000 kWh. Additional potential effects may be added if the solution can attract and meet the needs of motorists.
The project provides in-depth knowledge of possible goal conflicts between autonomy, accessibility to everyday life activities, experiences and well-being, and makes gender and diversity perspectives visible.
